Cheryl Micus has a nationally recognized certification through the Pilates Method Alliance. She also is a Sports Conditioning Specialist through the American Council of Exercise.
She has designed this group class on the Pilates equipment specifically for Tennis Players seeking to improve how they play.
Pilates training is all about strengthening “the core” and creating a more flexible, agile body. The core is more than just abs. The CORE includes the muscles of the back that support the shoulders, the muscles of the spine that maintain alignment and the side bending power of the obliques that control rotation and flexibility.
The all-encompassing benefit of strengthening the core is key for precise body mechanics in ground movement & stroke execution. To move back & forth with precision and control on the court, tennis players need to be confident in lateral movements. Having both stability and mobility of the shoulder and rotator cuff muscles will bring power to a serve.
