Growing up in a family of bodybuilders, Suzanne was introduced to Pilates in 2003 and fell in love from her very first class. She believes Pilates is an excellent platform to support all other fitness activities, whether it’s hiking, tennis, golf, or running. She focuses on healthy alignment through functional exercises based in anatomical knowledge and believes the precise movements of Pilates has a restorative quality and brings balance to the body.
In addition to her other credentials, Suzanne earned a bachelor’s degree from Marylhurst University in Oregon. She holds a Power Pilates mat certification and a comprehensive Pilates equipment certification from Sport Pilates and is a certified FXP hula hoop instructor. She is committed to crafting individualized Pilates training programs for post rehab clients, fitness enthusiasts and athletes.

Cheryl Micus is a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Pilates Trainer (PMA-CPT). She completed her Pilates equipment and Ballet Barre education and training through the Pilates Sports Center. Cheryl is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Association of Fitness Certifications (NAFC) and both
a Group Fitness Instructor and Sports Conditioning Specialist through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). In addition, Cheryl is also trained in and instructs TRX and PiYo. Along with Cheryl’s versatile fitness background, she is also a Fitness Nutrition Specialist through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
Originally from Colorado, Cheryl moved to The Valley of the Sun in 2005 and is an avid enthusiast of hiking, biking, golfing and tennis. Cheryl’s enthusiasm,high- energy and fun loving spirit demonstrates her genuine passion for Pilates and fitness and her positive attitude and cheerful smile is contagious to those around her.

Tara has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a master’s of business administration. She mat trained with STOTT and completed her full equipment training and certification with the PilatesSportsCenter. She is Bender Barre certified and is an IDEA master trainer.
Tara has been a runner throughout most of her life, competing at the Division I level while in college. After injuries sidelined her, she began teaching group fitness classes and became a student of Pilates training in 2004.
Tara trains in all modalities because she believes that cross-training helps prevent injuries. She is passionate about Pilates and hopes to inspire her clients to achieve pain-free fitness.

Stephanie began dancing at the age of two. By the age of 16 she was a dance instructor. She taught tap, jazz, ballet, ballroom, and social dancing for the next 15 years.
Stephanie became a certified personal trainer in 2000. It was through a fellow personal trainer that she discovered Pilates. An intensive apprenticeship began where Stephanie earned comprehensive certifications in all levels of Pilates mat, apparatus, and special-case clients. She is also a SmartSpineTM certified professional trainer.
Stephanie has found joy in helping others find results through the Pilates for the last 10 years. She has also taught barré classes since 2010.

Sarah has taught virtually every kind of class offered at the Village including Hi & Lo impact, Kickboxing, Slide, Urban Rebounding, Step, Interval, Strength, Core, Bosu, Cycle, DOGA, and Pilates.
Sarah has focused on Pilates training for the last 15 years. Her philosophy is “love what you do and you’ll keep doing it.” She believes in making a caring connection with each client so they can achieve a true mind/body/spirit connection.
She loves to travel, hike, visit her two college-age daughters, volunteer at the Small Dog Animal Rescue and is an entrepreneur who is writing a book and holding annual Bliss Boutiques to benefit charity.
RACHEL GARDNER, BS

Rachel earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Arizona State University. She’s been teaching Pilates since 2008, having trained in the Balanced Body method. She completed the nationally recognized Pilates Method Alliance certification in 2013.
Rachel was the head trainer for the City of Glendale’s aqua exercise program. She has competed in triathlons and open-water swims such as Escaping Alcatraz, and led backpacking adventures to the Grand Canyon, Paria Canyon, and Yosemite.
At the Village, Rachel combined the power of water with Pilates principles and came up with “Poolates,” one of her favorite classes to teach. She is also trained in TRX suspension training and is a TRX Ripp trainer.
LINDA HERTZBERG, BA

Linda holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and secondary education from Arizona State University. She grew up playing baseball, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, dancing, running track, and eventually tennis when the Village opened. She started her own fitness business over 30 years ago and has been commi ed to excellence in fitness programming and to the people using those programs ever since.
Linda completed her Pilates apparatus training with STOTT Pilates International and is certified through Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). She is one of only 15 GYROTONIC® certified trainers in the Phoenix area. She is also certified in Zumba I & II, Schwinn Cycling, BOSU, Urban Rebounding, and CoreAlign through Balanced Body Pilates.
JULIE POPLAWSKI, BS

Julie has been teaching group fitness classes since 1991. As a student at USC, she taught hi-impact, indoor rowing, cycling, and competed on the school’s surf club team.
Julie has written a book on weight loss through portion control titled Fill Your Cup, and teaches cycle and hardcore Pilates classes.
She holds a business degree from USC, completed her Pilates training through PhysicalMind with a mentorship with Kelly Kane in New York City and has completed Schwinn’s cycle training program.
She believes you are stronger than you think and that Pilates can lead to a deeper understanding of your body’s strength connections.

After many years in dance and aerobics, Jill started teaching fitness classes during her senior year in high school and never looked back! She has taught almost every format including high impact, step, kickboxing, Bosu, water fitness, cycle, boot camp, and more. She holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Arizona State University. She is a Pilates Method Alliance certified Pilates trainer.
After years of teaching fitness at resorts and corporate fitness centers, and developing student and community programs, she eventually fell in love with Pilates as a method to help balance and restore her body.
She completed her training through Balanced Body University and is excited to add Pilates instruction to her life!

Jennifer has been working at Camelback Village since1995. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, exercise physiology and a master’s degree in physical therapy from Wichita State University.
In addition to teaching Pilates for over 10 years and group exercise classes even longer, Jennifer has been in the fitness industry since 1983. She completed all of her Pilates apparatus training through STOTT Pilates International.
A consummate teacher, Jennifer guides her clients in the power of neuro-muscular re-education and strengthening with mindful purpose.
Jennifer has danced on point, played tennis, run track, and competed in the National Aerobic Championships.

JackiebecameacertifiedPilatestrainer through Balanced Body Pilates. In addition to other group fitness formats, she teaches Pilates mat and many different barre classes. Jackie is also a certified Schwinn® indoor cycling instructor.
A er being injured in a minor snowboarding accident, Jackie was introduced to Pilates as a way to finish her rehab. This experience was so positive that she decided to become a Pilates trainer.
Jackie loves all kinds of fitness classes including ballet, yoga, dance, snow and wakeboard, paddle board, and hiking.
Jackie believes in focusing on the individual needs of each client, thus helping them achieve their fitness goals.

Gina has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in dietetics. She completed Pilates training through both Sto and PhysicalMind.

Gina is also certified in Cardiolates and TRX. If you add up all the disciplines that Gina has under her belt, anyone can see she is commi ed to helping her clients achieve a strong, healthy body through a nurtured mind/body connection taught by a passionate teacher.

Garry has an associate’s degree in communications and a bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral science.
As a regional touring professional bowler, Garry suffered an injury. This life changing event led him to Pilates for rehabilitation.
Garry studied under master teachers Romana KrysanowskaandBobLiekens. Heisalicensed massage therapist specializing in medical massage. He is certified in the cranial release technique and is a certified flexibility trainer in the Stretch-to-Win technique.
Garry says that Pilates changed his life for the be er. Not only will it make you stronger, it will empower you to take on any exercise program you choose.

Dawn has a master’s degree in education and over 25yearsofexperienceinthefitnessindustry. She has held numerous certificates including group fitness, personal training and Pilates. Dawn first experienced Pilates when she certified in mat Pilates through Corefit.
In 2010, Dawn decided to leave her career as a teacher of the Deaf to become a comprehensive classical method Pilates instructor through Peak Pilates®. She has had direct mentorship from internationally renowned master teacher trainers Michael Fritzke and Ton Voogt.
Dawn has trained a variety of clients from the deconditioned to professional athletes.
