We do our best to create healthy habits most of the time; to eat clean and put things in and on our bodies that are good for us and make us feel our best. “Superfoods” have gone viral. And in 2020, we have the opportunity, and the technological resources, to understand what goes into our bodies internally… but what about externally? We want to give our exterior the same love and attention we give to our interior — not just for physical appearance, but for the “feel good” factor that we all enjoy when we feel and look our best all around! Let’s look at some ideas for clean beauty products for the ultimate health and beauty routine.
Natural Makeup
Many of us get easily overwhelmed when it comes to going to the makeup department or “Big box” beauty and cosmetic stores. There’s a good reason for that! There are hundreds of brands and a cream, or bottle, or salve, for nearly every part of the body. ou may ask yourself, “Where do I even start?” An important starting point is to ask “What’s ‘in it’ that is going to give me the results?”
When looking for a new product, consider the source, ingredients, and how it was made before next considering the results on the skin or hair. People seeking health and beauty are focused on clean foods, and they should also focus on clean beauty products for the skin, hair, and body. We are exposed to so many things in our daily lives we have no control over like toxins, pollution, etc. However, what you purchase and choose to put in and on your body is an area in your life where you can take control.
Products We Recommend
There are three companies we recommend that take the above mentioned as their first priorities — and the results are in their products.
First up: Jane Iredale. This skincare company was a pioneer in perfecting the amazing mineral natural makeup technology. It was skincare first, and then makeup. But ultimately it was created to protect the skin after full facial laser surgery. Iredale wanted to go outdoors but had no skin to protect her face (yikes!) and also did not want to scare people. So, Jane married the two… and “I do!” Mineral makeup was born.
The company tests their minerals over and over for bacterial growth so the mineral makeup can’t be contaminated. The line also ultra protects with UVA and UVB and is backed by the American Cancer Society.
Another big advocate of clean beauty is Eminence Organic Skin Care. The products they cultivate and use are so pure — the company grows everything in Sweden in a huge organic garden all with ultra-organic real products. In fact, they are so real, you can spell them all (and even eat some such as blueberry and coconut)! I even asked if I could eat them and the educator said, “Sure!” However, I still have never made a meal of it. The company won’t pack their products in anything that isn’t 1,000 percent biodegradable and good for Mother Earth.
And who doesn’t love a fresh mani or pedi? Dazzle Dry Nail Polish is a local company that has created an absolutely amazing polish that is one of the fastest-growing in the industry. It was even voted by Forbes Fortune 500 as one of the top ten most innovative products. One reason is because it dries in FIVE minutes! Wowza! Like, put-your-socks-and-tennis-shoes-on type of dry! But the best part is what’s not in the product — including formaldehyde, one big word that can do lots of damage. It is poison, especially considering one of the most porous places on the body is the nail beds. Yikes! Check out these products and rest easy at night knowing you are using the cleanest beauty products in the industry and you chose them!! Run to one of our Village Spas and indulge yourself in an all-Eminence Facial, a Pedi or Mani featuring Dazzle Dry Polish (bring your timer if you really want to test its timely magic!), and get color matched or schedule a make-up lesson with the amazing Jane Iredale natural makeup today!
