Important COVID-19 Update

Dear Village Members,

May 12, 2020

We are excited to let you know that we will be reopening our 4 Village clubs and the DC Ranch Tennis Center on June 1, 2020. Although Governor Ducey announced today at his press conference that clubs/gyms can reopen May 13, we made the decision to delay our reopening to ensure we have the proper guidelines in place to protect the health and safety of all members and staff. For us, it is more important to reopen in the most responsible manner possible rather than be one of the first clubs to reopen.

In order to comply with the CDC guidelines, we will be reopening with some restrictions. We will share those details with all members in advance of reopening the Village.

As we still have limited staff you can reach out to us through our online contact us form for any questions you may have and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

We appreciate your patience and support. Let’s stay safe and strong together. Looking forward to welcoming you all back soon.

We are happy to share with you that we are reopening the salon section of the Village Spa. We will begin taking appointments this Friday, May 15 at 9am for services starting on Tuesday, May 19. The services offered at this time are hair, nails and brow wax. Our temporary schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Please call on May 15 to book your first appointment and after that service, you can schedule any follow up appointments.

In response to COVID-19, you will notice some new requirements for using the Village Salon. Along with the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology requirements, we have made the following temporary changes to our business practices based on CDC guidelines.

  • Please do not book services if you or a household member has a fever, COVID-19 symptoms or a communicable illness. Please refrain from visiting if you are under an isolation or quarantine order
  • We will be taking your temperature upon arrival by a manager wearing a mask with a touchless infrared thermometer. If your temperature exceeds 100.4, you will be asked to reschedule and leave the club.
  • You will be required to wear a mask. Please bring your own mask and wear it upon entering the club for your appointment.
  • We may require you to wash your hands prior to your service and will provide hand sanitizer at every station.
  • The relaxation room will be closed and space in the waiting area will be monitored for social distancing. You may also wait outside or in your vehicle until your service time. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to your appointment.
  • Be considerate of others in the salon and practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.
  • Tea and other amenities will not be available at this time. Please bring a personal water bottle to enjoy during your service.
  • Please don’t bring guests or children with you for your appointment.
  • After your appointment is completed, in the interest of continued safety, please exit the building.

While our Spa and salon has always met stringent sanitation requirements, we will now increase those efforts for your comfort and safety. Please respect the spa and salon’s sanitation and hygiene standards and processes posted within the salon and spa areas. Our staff will have their temperature taken before each shift, will be required to frequently wash their hands, will be wearing masks at all times and will be cleaning all service areas after each use.

We look forward to welcoming you to the salon and providing you a clean, safe and relaxing environment in which to enjoy your services. The rest of the Village Health Club & Spa will remain closed at this time. We will be in contact with you as we open up other areas of the club in accordance with our phased re-opening plan. We hope you are well and staying healthy.

Thank you,

The Village Staff

I hope you are all staying safe and healthy during this time of uncertainty. It has been a month since we had to temporarily close the Village. I wanted to update you on your club and what we have been up to since the closure. As you can imagine this has been a very hard time for us all.

We have been answering many emails about billing. Unfortunately, the closing of the club coincided with the March billing which resulted in members being billed for the full month of March. As we shared in our last communication, once the clubs reopen, members will receive a dues credit on their Village account for the days the club was closed in March (March 17-31). There will be no further billing activities until the clubs reopen. If you have additional questions about your billing please reach out through our online contact us form.

We have been working very hard inside the clubs. We completed our deep cleaning for the entire club and all equipment. We took the opportunity to do some additional projects since the clubs were empty.

We still don’t have a timeline for reopening the Village Health Clubs & Spas. We are as eager as you are but we must follow the CDC guidelines and keep the safety of our members and staff in mind. Once we have more information about reopening, we will certainly let you know. We have been getting some questions about renting our equipment to members. We are not renting equipment to members so that our equipment remains safe, disinfected and available when the clubs reopen.

To help keep you fit and healthy we are continuing to add workout tips and videos to Village social media and on our website. Make sure to follow us on social media for the latest tips and videos. We will continue to have monthly Myzone Challenges to keep our members engaged. If you have a Myzone belt already, you will automatically be invited to the challenges. If you don’t have a Myzone belt we are offering them at a discount. The belt can be shipped directly to your home. Use the keep-up-your-fitness link to our website for the Myzone belt order details located at the bottom of that page.

We shared an email at the end of March asking for your support to reach out to Congress to get economic relief for the fitness industry. I would like to personally ask for your support again. The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) our industry trade association, has a new letter campaign to urge Congress to include the fitness industry in economic relief. IHRSA has set up the following link to learn more on how you can help. Please use this link to easily send a letter to your Senators and Representatives to aid the health club industry in being part of any financial stimulus relief. It only takes a few minutes of your time and is so important not only for the Village and our employees, but also for the entire fitness industry, large and small.

Again, I hope you are well and I will continue to share emails as updates are available. Please stay safe and healthy. We will get through this together.

Dear Village Members,

We appreciate your support during this very challenging time for the Village and our community. We tried our best to keep your club open while maintaining a healthy environment for our members and staff. As the crisis grew, we realized we couldn’t provide the safety and services you are accustomed to at the Village. After much thoughtful consideration, we have made the decision to temporarily close the clubs and the DC Ranch Tennis Center. We are not sure how long this closure will last. We will be following guidelines from the CDC and what we believe is in the best interest for our members and employees.

We have never closed our doors in the 40 years we have been in business and we didn’t make this decision lightly. We intend to open our clubs as soon as reasonably possible but not before it is determined that it is prudent to do so.  We realize that these times are hard for all of us and understand that the Village is your home away from home. In the end, the safety of our members and employees is our highest priority.

During this time your dues will be prorated starting on Tuesday, March 17. After that you will see a monthly dues credit on your statement for the duration of our closure. Although the clubs will be closed, we are dedicated to our staff who are the backbone of our longtime success. Our plan is to continue to pay all our employees.

If you have any appointments scheduled with our spa, tennis pros, Pilates trainers, personal trainers, swim instructors or any other staff during this time, your appointment will be cancelled, and you will not be charged. If you have a locker rental and you need anything from your locker, please use our Contact Us link online to schedule a time to come by and get what you need.

We know how important the Village is to your lifestyle. We will continue to communicate with you as we obtain new information. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Village shortly. Please be sure to follow us on social media as we will be sharing tips on how to stay fit and healthy at home. During a time of social distancing, it is important for us to use technology to stay connected.

Wishing all of you the best. Be safe and remain healthy.
