Originally from Connecticut, Barbara has lived many places, including Alaska and the Netherlands. During college, she spent two summers on Cape Cod cooking for a woman in her 80s. She has a master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Arizona and has written for WebMD. She has never eaten a fast food hamburger in her life. She has run a marathon and flown on a trapeze (even though she is afraid of heights). Besides Pilates, she loves yoga, hiking, reading, listening to podcasts and binging Netflix. She can usually be found watching her son play baseball
Denise is originally from Wisconsin. She started teaching group fitness classes when she was 16. She received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science and wellness from Arizona State University. She enjoys hiking, reading, kayaking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Fall is her favorite season, and she loves to be outdoors. Her favorite quote, “Fitness is a journey, not a destination…make every day count.”.
Jinger has been teaching in the fitness industry since 1983. She has taught just about every format over the years including Hula Hoop and Stand-up paddle board classes. She believes there is an inner athlete in all of us, you just have to find what inspires you. She loves all kinds of candy and is a certified master gardener. She is very shy in large crowds (hard to believe) and even had an imaginary friend when she was little.
Joan attended several Arizona colleges and universities achieving an Education degree specializing in PE. From age 5, she immersed herself in the performing arts as a dancer, musician, and an actor. As a competitive roller skater, she won an Arizona state championship. Joan enjoys travel both domestically and abroad, having fun salsa dancing in six different countries and exploring over 30 national parks and monuments. She hikes and reads avidly.
Jodi is from NY, and has been teaching Pilates for over 25 years. She was a fitness spokesperson for the CBS morning news for 8 years and featured on ABC and NBC. She has a Master’s Degree in Nutrition. Jodi loves walking and listening to music on her electric bicycle. She doesn’t play golf, but is a professional at Top Golf. She went to college on the beach, but loves desert living. She is living her best life
Maurice is from Wisconsin and graduated from Blue Sky Massage School in Grafton, WI. After high school Maurice went into the US army, airborne, and has 10 static line jumps under his belt. He moved to Arizona in search of warmer weather. He loves to go hiking and backpacking, especially summers on the Mogollan Rim. He enjoys spending time in Arizona’s national forest and is looking to take up fishing.
Sandi is originally from New Jersey but moved to Scottsdale AZ at the age of 15. She was a gymnast for 12 years and loved every second of it. That is where her love for being active began! After high school she moved to Southern California, where she finished college and enjoyed the beach life for 10 years. From starting gymnastics at the age of 3 to this current day she is always active doing something! You will find her running, boxing, golfing and doing Pilates regularly to keep her body strong in all the right places. Words of advice: Keeping our bodies strong in all the right places will help us continue doing the things we love for years to come.
